Did you miss out the first time? You’re in luck! A Night at the Museum is back for round two! Friends of Roots and the Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA) invite you to celebrate Chinese New Year. This happy hourevent will feature award-winning sweet and savory dumplings from Carb Fairy Dessert Company, fresh beats brought to you by DJ Eratic, a professional photo booth, and a cash bar.

Founded in 1963, CHSA is the oldest and largest organization in the country dedicated to the documentation, study, and presentation of Chinese American history. Through exhibitions, publications, and educational, public programming, CHSA promotes the contributions and legacy of Chinese America.

Friends of Roots in 2012 established Roots: Him Mark Lai Family History Project, named in honor of our beloved teacher Him Mark Lai. The program will provide a deeper exploration of the Chinese American experience, including:

  • Continuing the legacy of Him Mark Lai through education and promotion of Chinese American history, culture, genealogy and experience.
  • Expanded involvement in community events, activities and organizations.
  • Serving additional age groups and researching and visiting regions beyond the Pearl River Delta.

Don’t forget to share this event! It’s good karma.
