CARVED IN SILENCE A documentary film and discussion with Emmy Award-winning producer/director Felicia Lowe
With immigration again a hot issue in the United States, CHSA co-sponsors this film in conjunction with the University of San Francisco, Center for the Pacific Ri. This 45 minute film takes us back to the Exclusion Era, focusing on the detention of Chinese immigrants at Angel Island in San Francisco Bay, the gateway from Asia to America.
Lowe combines interviews with historical footage and dramatic enactments to translate the impact of public policies into human terms. Please click here for more information
