CHSA will host walking tours of San Francisco Chinatown during our academic conference “This Land is Our Land”. There will be two Chinatown walking tours per day, at 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm, on October 6th, 7th, & 8th, 2017.
The Chinatown walking tour will start at the Chinese Historical Society of America, located on 965 Clay Street, and will end at Portsmouth Square (near the Hilton, site of the conference). The Chinatown walking tour explores the oldest Chinatown in the United States. The walking tour will explore various places in Chinatown that are of historical, social, and/or cultural significance. The walking tour lasts about 1 hour. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore why Chinatown was created, how this historic community evolved over the years and will continue to evolve in the future.
Each tour is limited to 20 people. Tour tickets are available to purchase online up to the scheduled tour time.
