Come out to support the work of Leland Wong and the nonprofit Chinese Historical Society of America at the art show and auction night at 1920C Gallery. Lelands, “I AM A WARRIOR!” exhibit will feature Asian American community posters, drawings, paintings and photography. Refreshments and drinks will be provided and afterwards head over to the local bars in Chinatown!
About Leland:
Leland Wong is a long time resident and talented artist in Chinatown, SF. Leland is an illustrator, printmaker, and photographer know for his art pieces reflecting community aspects. Leland has been an active artist in Chinatown since the 1970’s. His first exhibition was at the De Young Museum an exhibition of “San Francisco Streets”. Since then he has been featured in over 40 solo and group exhibits around the city. He also has his artwork up in various restaurants in Chinatown. Leland is a known as an artistic leader in Chinatown and over the years his photography captured the neighborhood streets, cafes, people and true culture in Chinatown.
Nonprofit Partner: Chinese Historical Society of America
The Chinese Historical Society of America Museum is the oldest organization in the country dedicated to the interpretation, promotion, and preservation of the social, cultural and political history and contributions of the Chinese in America. Part of the proceeds from the exhibit will go towards CHSA.
