Who was Tie Sing? Join CHSA on Friday, November 17th as we welcome Author Annette Bay Pimentel to tell the true story of a Chinese American mountain man who began cooking for mapmakers, and soon built a reputation as the best trail cook in California. He was of Chinese descent at a time in America when to be Chinese meant working in restaurants or laundries. But he had bigger plans, that helped inspire the creation of the National Park Service.
Annette will give an interactive presentation good for all ages describing the history and inspiration of her Search to discover the story of Tie Sing. Books will also be sold after the event.Admission to this event is included in regular Museum Admission prices.
