Hats Off! exhibit to close Sept. 11, 2013

hatsoff-300x400CHSA has been gratified to exhibit such a rare and grand collection of Qing Dynasty hats for children, which were generously donated by the collector Leslie Selcow in memory of Jade Snow Wong. Hats Off! opened to great fanfare in February 23, 2013, to the delight of our visitors at our Lunar New Year of the Snake celebration. The exhibit received many visitors of all ages, and has been a highlight of the many tours that we offer to schools and community groups. The audience from our 2nd Saturday event in March enjoyed a talk by Sally Leung, who discussed the symbolism that is expressed in the hats.

Although the exhibit is coming to a close, we hope to create more future opportunities to share this fabulous collection of hats with the Bay Area community and beyond. These uniquely decorated hats will be on display a few days longer, so please spread the word to your friends and family to come on by to take one last look!
