CHSA Museum Docent Tour (Wed.-Sun. | 11:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-4:00pm)

Public K-12 Groups: $5 / student plus $5 / chaperone
Private K-12 Groups: $10 / student plus $10 / chaperone
College students & adults: $20 / participant (regardless of group size)

Learn more about the “We Are Bruce Lee” exhibit through a guided tour with one of our expert docents. Participants will learn more about Bruce Lee’s life, achievements, and impact, as well as better understand the stories behind the artifacts in the exhibit.

Duration: 45-60 minutes.

Public K-12 Groups: $3 / student plus $5 / chaperone
Private K-12 Groups: $5 / student plus $10 / chaperone
College students & adults: $10 per participant (regardless of group size)

Groups will get the chance to explore the museum, including the “We are Bruce Lee” exhibit, on their own time and schedule. School groups can participate in a Bruce Lee Bingo worksheet to help guide their exploration. Group visits books through our system receive a lower rate than if you book individual tickets.

Although many of San Francisco’s once beloved Chinese restaurants of the past are now just a fond memory, some are still open today serving both the community and visitors alike with the spirit of traditional Chinese cooking. We take you through some of the most well known and loved historic restaurants of our neighborhood that range from traditional Cantonese cuisine to some of the earliest iterations of “Chinese American” food.

Participants discover the connections between the past and present and reflect on how communities shape history through a guided tour of the oldest Chinatown in the United States. Topics addressed include: immigration policies, the 1906 earthquake, the rebuilding of Chinatown and its architecture, and community activism.

Suggested Duration: 60-75 minutes.

Virtual Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion Docent Tour (Wed.-Sun. | 11:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-4:00pm)

All groups: $50 flat rate (regardless of group size)

Participants virtually visit our previous in-house installment. This exhibit explores the centuries-long history of immigration and trade between America and China. This is a history that has shaped the Chinese American experience and the formation of American society. This exhibit tells the stories of courageous men and women who fought against the Chinese Exclusion Act. The guided tour will be done using a 3D scan of the exhibit over video conferencing.

Duration: 60 minutes.
